The Geology Merit Badge Workshop will cover all of the requirements to complete the Geology Merit Badge.
Meteorology is the study of Earth's atmosphere, it's weather, wind, temperature, and moisture act with each other. Not only will Boy Scouts learn about normal everyday weather they will have a chance to learn about extreme weather, and have a chance of seeing a rare "fire tornado." Requirements 9 and 10 will have to be done outside of class.
What classifies as a mammal? Does size or shape play a part? What are the four main requirements to become a mammal? Boy Scouts will learn these answers while completing this merit badge. All Requirements will be completed during the class.
The word geocache is a combination "Geo" which means Earth and "cache" which means a hiding place. Boy Scouts will learn gain knowledge on how to use a GPS properly to find a geocache. Open to all Boy Scouts rank Tenderfoot and above. Requirement 7 should be done before the class starts. There is a very close connection between the soil, the plants, and all animal life. Understanding this connection and impact is important for preserving all aspects of a "wilderness." Open to all Boy Scouts, Tenderfoot and above. Scouts will be able to accomplish the complete merit badge during program session.
Boy Scouts will glance into the strange and fascinating world of insects. What really is an Insect? They will explore creatures with strength, and amazing speed. Scouts will also understand the changes that insects go through and how each differs from another. Open to all Boy Scouts, Tenderfoot and above. Scouts will need to complete requirement number 5 a and b before completion of class.
